Per F5 recommendations: F5 Security Incident and Quarterly Security Notification

F5 customers are strongly recommended to ensure their TMOS is running at least 17.5.1.3 / 17.1.3 / 16.1.6.1 / 15.1.10.8. BIG-IQ 8.4 or F5 OS 1.5.4 or 1.6.4 or higher version to ensure the security of their F5 infra structure.

Using the Secured Environment License Utility



Step 1: Authenticate

  1. In the Requester Email box, type your email address.
    Note: Make sure you are an authorized contact to obtain a license. If you are not an authorized contact, contact F5 Technical Support.
  2. In the Serial Key box, type the last seven characters of the base registration key of the unit you want to license.
  3. Read and then select the Accept EULA check box, and click Next Step.


Step 2: Provide Data

Select how you are going to be entering your licensing date: Via the command line output from your f5 appliance or it may be entered manually.

  • Commmand Line Output
    • Your appliance will have either the utility: get_ccn_dossier or get_dossier installed. Use that utility on your F5 appliance to get the information necessary to obtain your license.
      For detailed instructions on these command line utilities, please see section: 'Instructions for CCN License Utilitiies' in help.
  • Manual
    • Enter the data into the individual fields exactly as it was provided by the get_ccn_dossier or get_dosssier utility


Step 3: Receive License File

  • This page delivers the resulting license file in text form. To save the output to a text file, click the Save to File button.
  • Take the license file text (either written on paper, or storage media) into the secured environment.
  • Copy the file to the BIG-IP or BIG-IQ license activation page and follow the provided instructions from the product to complete the licensing operation.
